Lower Secondary History

The Lower Secondary History syllabus is about Singapore’s past from the 14th century to the 1970s. It investigates the relevance of Singapore’s past and how it shaped the Singapore we live in today. Secondly, it also looks at historic developments (Mass migration, Colonialism, World War II, Japanese Occupation, Merger with Malaysia, Independence) role in transforming Singapore.

Lower Secondary History Syllabus : Express/Normal (Academic) course

Even though MOE had removed Mid-Year Examination for Secondary 1 and 3, there will be Weighted Assessment in every term and End-of-Year exams.

Upper Secondary History (Elective)

The Upper Secondary History syllabus looks at key developments which shaped international history in the 19th and 20th Century. Students get to learn the causes of historic events (Word War I, Treaty of Versailles, Rise of Nazi Germany, Rise of Soviet Union, World War II, Rise of Japan, War in Asia Pacific, Defeat of Germany and Japan, Cuban Missile Crises, Cold War, the Korean War, End of Cold war) and their long lasting impact on our present world.
