Upper secondary Social Studies (SS) explores three main societal issues that have been affecting Singapore and the world at large. These issues are real in nature and compel students to think about causes, impacts and future implications of these issues in society. Students explore the following concepts in depth:
- The idea of being citizen of a country and the role of government;
- Living in a diverse society and the merit of assimilation;
- Global forces such as globalisation that affect Singapore and will continue to affect Singapore.
