Social Studies

Social Studies (SS) is a compulsory N and O level subject. The focus of SS is to develop critical thinking skills by exposing students to various local and global sources (cartoons, pictures, text, graphs etc). Students are exptected to read widely especially Singapore current affairs to excel in Social Studies.

O-Level Elective History is taken as an elective and combined with O-Level Social Studies to make a full subject. To excel, students are expected to read textbook/notes, understand assessment requirements, be familiar with different types of Source-Based Questions and acquire adequate historical contents to construct valid explanations of given factors.
